Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 September 2026
Verdict is a product of Hilm Technologies. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else it reaches, and the control you have over it. Questions or requests: verdict@hilmtec.com.
What we collect
- Your email address — when you join the waitlist, start a subscription, or sign in. It identifies your account and is where receipts and product mail go.
- Your name, if your sign-in provider (GitHub or Google) supplies it, or if you enter it.
- Payment details — handled entirely by our payment processor, SkipCash. We never see or store your card number; we receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded and which plan it was for.
- Your AI coding sessions — the transcripts and code diffs the desktop app syncs for the chats you or your workspace choose to share. These are stored in Verdict's database and are visible to the members of your workspace. Your code, your agents, and your terminal run on your own machine.
- Project information from your machine — so the app can help you connect your work, the desktop app reports the folder paths, git remote URLs, and chat titles of coding projects it finds locally, including ones you have not linked yet, so it can offer them. Full transcripts and diffs sync only for the sessions you select.
- Your AI provider key — if you add an Anthropic or OpenAI API key to power Verdict's AI features, we store it encrypted and use it only to make those features work.
- A GitHub token — if you connect GitHub, we store an access token with permission to read your repositories, so Verdict can show the commits and pull requests behind your team's work. You can disconnect it at any time.
- Device and diagnostic data — the desktop app's version, your operating system, and an install identifier; your IP address, used to protect the service from abuse; and error reports when something breaks.
How AI features use your sessions
Verdict can summarise sessions, answer questions about them in an in-app assistant, and detect issues automatically. When you or a teammate use these features, the relevant session content — which may include sessions you shared in the workspace — is sent to Anthropic or OpenAI, using the API key configured for that workspace member, so the provider can return the summary or answer. These providers process the content only to produce that result and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models. If you would rather no session content leave for AI processing, do not add an AI key and ask your teammates not to run these features on your work.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not use your code or transcripts to train our own models, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site without your consent. Session content is sent to an AI provider only to produce a summary or answer someone asked for, as described above — never for any other purpose.
Who processes data on our behalf
- SkipCash — payment processing.
- Railway — application hosting and the database.
- Vercel — hosting for this website.
- Anthropic and OpenAI — the AI features described above, reached with the API key configured in your workspace.
- Sentry — diagnostic error reports, so we can find and fix crashes.
- Meta (Facebook) — measures whether our ads work, and only after you accept the cookie banner on this site.
- Google Workspace — the mailbox that sends sign-in and receipt email.
- GitHub and Google — optional sign-in providers, and, if you connect GitHub, the source of the repository data above.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and workspace data for as long as your account is active. Sessions you have synced stay visible to your workspace, including after you leave it, unless you ask us to remove them. Ask us to delete your data and we will remove your account and its data, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons (such as payment receipts).
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of your data, or its deletion, at any time by emailing verdict@hilmtec.com.
- Add or remove your AI key, and connect or disconnect GitHub, from within the app.
- Cancel your subscription at any time; see the Terms.
- Leave the waitlist by asking us to remove your email.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, for account holders, note it in the app.
